We are seeking a qualified and experienced

Lab Incharge

to manage and oversee day-to-day laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate testing, maintaining laboratory standards, supervising lab staff, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements.

Testing & Analysis

Supervise mechanical, chemical, metallurgical, and corrosion testing of pipes. Ensure all tests (e.g., tensile, Charpy impact, hardness, Micro, Guide Bend test, chemical) are conducted per standards.

Sample Management

Ensure correct sampling procedures and traceability for all test specimens (e.g., from specific heat numbers or batch/Lot No.)

Test Method Validation

Validate and verify testing methods according to ASTM, ISO, or API standards.

Calibration & Equipment Control

Ensure all lab equipment is calibrated and maintained as per schedule. Maintain calibration records traceable to national/international standards.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and verify test reports and ensure traceability to production batches. Maintain accurate records, lab logs, and quality documentation.

Non-Conformance Identification

Identify and report any test failures or material deviations from specifications. Support NCR and root cause investigations.

Team Supervision

Train, assign, and monitor lab technicians and analysts. Ensure personnel are qualified and competent for their roles.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure lab operations comply with applicable standards, project specifications, and HSE protocols.

Qualification :

Minimum diploma in any discipline

Skill set

Familiar with supervising tensile, impact (Charpy), hardness, micro flattening, bend, and calibration. Skilled in overseeing chemical composition analysis and metallographic examinations (grain size, microstructure, inclusion rating). Knowledge of calibration schedules and operational checks for lab equipment (e.g., UTM, spectrometer, impact tester). Etc.
