Job Summary:


The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that food preparation, cooking, and presentation meet the highest standards of quality and consistency. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The Kitchen Supervisor works closely with the Head Chef to ensure that all culinary operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:



Supervision and Leadership:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and Cleaning. Assign tasks and responsibilities to kitchen staff, ensuring that all duties are completed in a timely manner. Provide guidance, training, and support to kitchen staff to improve their skills and performance. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Food Preparation and Quality Control:

Monitor portion sizes and consistency in food preparation. Taste and evaluate food to ensure that it meets taste, temperature, and appearance standards. Address and resolve any issues related to food quality or presentation.

Inventory and Supply Management:

Monitor and manage inventory levels of food, supplies, and equipment. Place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed, ensuring that the kitchen is well-stocked. Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records. Minimize waste and control food costs by managing portion sizes and utilizing ingredients efficiently.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Ensure that the kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met. Train staff on proper safety procedures and ensure that all safety protocols are followed. Address any health or safety concerns promptly.

Operational Efficiency:

Assist in developing and implementing kitchen procedures and workflows to improve efficiency. Manage and monitor kitchen operations to ensure that all tasks are completed within the required timeframes. Coordinate with other departments, such as front-of-house staff, to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.

Reporting and Communication:

Report any issues or concerns to the Head Chef. Maintain open and effective communication with kitchen staff and other team members. Provide feedback and performance evaluations for kitchen staff.

Qualifications:



Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards. Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot, busy kitchen environment. Ability to lift and carry heavy pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools and equipment.

Work Environment:



This role may require working long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the establishment's operating hours.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
