is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas are properly cleaned, sanitized, and organized. This role supports chefs and kitchen staff by providing a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Cleaning & Sanitation
Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans, and dishes.
Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, and storage areas.
Ensure proper garbage disposal and waste segregation.
Follow all hygiene and sanitation standards as per company and HACCP requirements.
2. Equipment Handling
Operate dishwashing machines and ensure they are in proper working condition.
Safely handle and store all kitchen tools and cleaning chemicals.
Report any damaged equipment, breakage, or maintenance needs to the Stewarding Supervisor.
3. Stock & Supplies Management
Refill and organize cleaning supplies and stewarding materials.
Assist in receiving kitchen supplies and storing them in designated areas.
Maintain inventory of cleaning tools and chemicals.
4. Support to Kitchen Operations
Provide clean utensils and equipment promptly to chefs and kitchen staff.
Assist with kitchen deep cleaning as scheduled.
Ensure proper storage and organization of all kitchen items.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or in kitchen operations (preferred).
Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Physically fit and able to lift, move, and stand for long periods.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
