As we expand our operations, we're looking for an energetic and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team, with a strong background in meal plan production and high standards in kitchen management.
Role Summary
As Kitchen Manager, you will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations for both our kitchen and meal plan business. You will be responsible for production planning, quality control, inventory management, food safety, and leading a diverse culinary team. Prior experience in high-volume meal plan kitchens is essential. The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, a problem solver, and passionate about healthy cooking.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Plan Production:
Supervise and optimize daily meal plan preparation, portioning, packaging, and dispatch.
Ensure all meal plans meet brand standards for taste, nutrition, and presentation.
Kitchen Operations:
Oversee all kitchen activities, including hot, cold, and dessert sections.
Develop and implement prep schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize wastage.
Maintain hygiene and food safety standards as per Dubai Municipality & HACCP guidelines.
Team Management:
Train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff (cooks, prep, packers, cleaners).
Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a positive team environment.
Delegate responsibilities and ensure all tasks are completed to high standards.
Inventory & Procurement:
Track inventory, conduct regular stock-takes, and manage ordering of ingredients and packaging.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
Quality Control:
Implement and monitor quality control checks for all outgoing meals.
Handle customer feedback/complaints related to kitchen and meal quality.
Menu Execution & R&D:
Work with management and nutritionists on new menu items and recipe optimization.
Train staff on new recipes and portioning standards.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Production Supervisor in a meal plan or high-volume kitchen.
Strong understanding of nutrition-focused cooking (keto, low-carb, gluten-free, etc.) preferred.
Experience in managing and motivating kitchen teams.
Solid knowledge of Dubai food safety and hygiene regulations.
Hands-on, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
Proficient in kitchen documentation, inventory, and scheduling.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Basic computer skills (inventory systems, spreadsheets, email).
Culinary certification/diploma preferred.
