We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Technician with a specialization in
kitchen equipment maintenance and repair
. The ideal candidate will have experience working with commercial kitchen appliances, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. The technician will also assist with general maintenance tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair
commercial kitchen equipment
such as ovens, stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, grills, fryers, and food warmers.
Perform
routine preventive maintenance
to ensure equipment longevity and safety.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in kitchen appliances and make necessary repairs.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Respond promptly to service requests and breakdowns to minimize kitchen downtime.
Ensure all kitchen equipment complies with
health and safety regulations
.
Assist with general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry, as required.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to understand operational needs and address recurring issues.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Follow company policies, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school diploma preferred.
Proven experience (2+ years) in maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems related to kitchen operations.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
Basic understanding of HVAC systems is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physically able to lift heavy equipment, stand, bend, and work in confined spaces.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license (if travel between sites is required).
Preferred Certifications (optional but advantageous):
EPA certification (for refrigerant handling)
Food service equipment technician certifications (e.g., CFESA)
Electrical or plumbing licenses (depending on local requirements)
