Assist chefs and cooks with basic food prep tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
Portion and wrap food items as directed.
Store food items properly in refrigerators or dry storage areas.
Cleaning and Sanitizing:
Clean and sanitize workstations, countertops, and kitchen surfaces.
Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.
Stocking and Inventory:
Ensure that all kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment are stocked and organized.
Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries.
Rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste following FIFO Policy.
Assist during busy periods by running food, refilling supplies, or performing other tasks as needed.
Ensure that the kitchen remains clean and organized during service.
Equipment Maintenance:
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, and fryers.
Report any malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
Compliance with Health and Safety Standards:
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Wear appropriate protective gear, such as gloves and aprons.
Adhere to all workplace safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 20kg).
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
