Job Title: Kindergarten Class Teacher
Reporting To: Head of Early Years / Principal
Location: UAE
Contract Type: Full-Time
1. Job Purpose:
The Kindergarten Class Teacher is a foundational role, responsible for providing a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment for young learners. The teacher will implement a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth, while instilling a love for learning. The approach must be aligned with the UAE's early learning standards and the child-centered, activity-based philosophy of the NCERT.
2. Key Responsibilities:
A. Learning Environment and Instruction:

  • Create a vibrant, print-rich, and inviting classroom that encourages exploration, inquiry, and purposeful play.
  • Plan and deliver a balanced curriculum covering literacy, numeracy, understanding the world, arts, and physical development.
  • Utilize a wide range of teaching strategies, including storytelling, rhymes, puppetry, sensory activities, and hands-on learning centers.
  • Foster the development of early language skills in English, with sensitivity to the multilingual backgrounds of students and incorporation of basic Arabic phrases.
  • Implement effective phonics and early reading programs.
B. Holistic Development and Care:
  • Support the development of key foundational skills: fine and gross motor skills, social skills (sharing, taking turns), emotional regulation, and independence.
  • Observe and monitor each child's development, identifying any individual needs or potential learning difficulties early.
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with each child, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and understood.
  • Manage daily routines including snack time, rest time, and toileting with care and patience.
C. Partnership and Communication:
  • Maintain open, proactive, and regular communication with parents through diaries, newsletters, apps, and meetings, viewing them as partners in their child's education.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and developmental milestones.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, specialist teachers, and school leadership.
3. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
  • Essential: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field. A teaching certification (PGCE, B.Ed.) with a specialization in Early Years is mandatory.
  • Essential: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching in a KG or Early Years setting in a UAE school.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of child development principles and early years best practices. Must be well-versed in the UAE's early learning framework and the NCERT's perspective on early childhood care and education.
  • Skills: Exceptional patience, creativity, and energy. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a warm and inclusive classroom community.
