The KAM is one of the key team members of DSV’s commercial organization. The Key Account Manager (KAM) is an executive-level account management role that is primarily responsible for managing, developing, and expanding business with one or more of DSVs top clients. The Key Account Manager is primarily focused on managing the customer to ensure top quality customer experience with the DSV Brand. The KAM plays a key role in establishing and maintaining long-term and productive strategic relationships with a large population of external and internal stakeholders. One of the key objectives for the KAM is develop trusted long-term solutions and relationships with selected accounts. The KAM will be expected to work with the relevant stakeholders and divisions to: 1. Ensure the required service levels are achieved and effectively manage a quality performance driven process to achieve maximum customer experience. 2. Ensure positive margins on all programs offered to the customer. 3. Conduct business with the highest integrity and ensure DSV and the clients adhere to their commitments on business, volumes, and payment terms, and ethics. The KAM is given a high degree of autonomy to manage the strategic sales process and is supported extensively by the organization. They must excel in working remotely and virtually to reach customers and internal stakeholders on a timely, cost effective, and carbon reduced basis. The KAM is expected to closely work with the Global Commercial Organization and is expected to contribute and execute the strategy for the accounts assigned to them.
Reporting Line: Report to: General Manager – Commercial Role: Individual contributor Direct subordinates: None Detailed Responsibilities:
  • Participates as an active member of the global/regional/local account team at the account level and industry vertical level.
  • Develops and maintains expert level knowledge of their assigned account(s).
  • Develops and executes customer account plan to retain and grow customer revenues and relationships.
  • Implements, promotes, and monitors the execution of account plans and objectives.
  • Stays informed on market trends and developments with their assigned accounts and within the logistics arena.
  • Use knowledge to create value added solutions for customers.
  • Identify opportunities within customer account and engages colleagues and line businesses to implement them.
  • Set productivity goals and KPI’s for the logistics activities in accordance with the client’s requirements.
  • Develop management reports to track KPI’s.
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement and participates and manages process through business reviews and other programs
  • Actively using the DSV CRM system for activity tracking, pipeline management etc.
  • Utilizes project management skills to implement customer solutions. Acts as the change engine for the customer.
  • Conducts monthly/quarterly business reviews with customer to review metrics, discusses business opportunities and operational challenges.
  • Maintains direct customer contact while demonstrating both the business development skills and ‘technical’ knowledge to make presentations, and lead customer discussions.
  • Demonstrates the necessary skills to negotiate issues for effective outcomes.
  • Acts as single point of contact for and actively maintain relationships with key stakeholders within both the customer organization and DSV.
  • Maintains a high level of communications and transparency on customer activities.
  • Contributes to the further professionalization of the Global Commercial Organization and demonstrate examples of best practice to the wider team.

Qualifications & Characteristics:
  • Possesses at minimum a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Supply Chain or Business Studies area preferred.
  • Must minimum 5 years’ experience in successfully working with key clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Teams, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced English (reading, writing, verbal)
  • Passionate and highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and in team
  • Pragmatic, proactive, and hands-on manager committed to deliver results and making things happen
  • Sets clear objectives and goals clearly and can implement such activities in the organization effectively
  • Positive and expansive mindset and culturally sensitive and understanding of diversity and different perspectives.
  • Thrives on solving problems.
  • Willingness and drive to achieve and to go the extra mile when needed
