Junior Procurement Officer Responsible for supporting business operations by ordering products or materials that agree 1. Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency 2. Maintaining Constructive working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities 3. Signing and reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating contracts 4. Using quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory management 5. Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records 6. Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies 7. Conducting ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors 8. Enter purchase orders into internal databases. Update internal databases with new purchase order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts). Follow-up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders. 9. Discussions with the supply base about minimum quantity orders and lead times. 10. Track orders and ensuring timely delivery. 11. Liaise with traffic team and warehouse team to ensure all products arrive in good condition. 12. Assist in monitoring stock levels and identifying purchasing needs. 13. Maintain updated records. 14. Initiate vendor claims as needed. Other duties and projects as assigned. Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organised Junior procurement officer to oversee purchases and develop new contracts. In this position, you will play a key role in procuring high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for our organisation. You will follow procurement procedures, maintain an updated list of current and incoming inventory, and be responsible for approving purchases.
Procurement Officer Duties and Responsibilities Other duties and projects as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: 1-Working Knowledge of Microsoft Business Apps (MS Excel, Outlook). 2-Data entry experience and skills. 3-Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day. 4-Excellent verbal and written communications skills. 5-Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. 6-Good understanding of supply chain procedures.
