Role Overview

The Company is seeking a driven and detail oriented Junior Commercial Manager to support our high end resort development project in the Maldives. The successful candidate will play a vital role in commercial oversight, ensuring adherence to contractual terms, and managing coordination between the project management team, quantity surveyor, and consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Project Management Team, Quantity Surveyor, and Consultants on all commercial and contractual matters. Review and verify payment recommendations submitted by consultants to ensure they align with contractual obligations and approved project milestones. Support in managing cost control, budget tracking, and cash flow forecasting. Assist in preparing monthly cost reports, variation assessments, and validating claims from contractors or suppliers. Maintain comprehensive records of all commercial correspondence, approvals, and documentation. Contribute to the administration of main and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with project and company policies. Attend relevant meetings and provide accurate commercial updates and inputs. Identify and escalate risks or discrepancies, supporting resolution with commercial insight.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, or a related field. MRICS qualified (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) - mandatory. 3-5 years of experience in a commercial role within the construction or project management industry. Must have experience with high end 5 start hospitality/resort projects Familiarity with FIDIC or similar standard contracts. Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of cost management tools is advantageous. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills. Willingness to travel to Maldives project sites and others when necessary.

Preferred Attributes

Background in project management consultancy environments. Understanding of Maldivian construction regulations is a plus. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
