We are seeking an experienced Procurement/Purchase Manager to oversee all purchasing activities, secure cost-effective and timely supply of materials, and coordinate outsourced fabrication for non-wood components.
Key Responsibilities
Source, procure and maintain stock of timber (hardwoods, softwoods, sheet materials), hardware, adhesives, finishes, tools, and consumables.
Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve best value and reliable delivery.
Evaluate suppliers on quality, price, reliability, and performance; conduct regular reviews.
Review project drawings & BOQ to identify outsourced requirements (metalwork, stone, glass, Corian, upholstery, etc.) and coordinate with specialist fabricators/suppliers.
Prepare procurement tracker/schedule with delivery dates based on project program.
Highlight any variation in material, design & quanitity in comparison to approved specs & BOQ.
Ensure all procurement is done based on approved materials, drawings and cost.
Coordinate with project and design team to identify and prioritise procurement for long lead/critical items to avoid project delays.
Issue enquiries, obtain quotations, place orders, and manage delivery schedules for outsourced items based off the project program dates.
Collaborate with production, design, and project teams to forecast needs, manage stock levels, and prevent delays.
Highlight and follow up with project & design for any pending approvals holding up the procurement to avoid project delays.
Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve supply issues.
Ensure procured materials & items are of good quality and as per specs and drawings.
Ensure proper storage and handling of procured materials once received in factory and keeping track of stock.
Analyse spend and report on cost savings and supplier performance based on every project.
Requirements
5+ years' experience as a Procurement/Purchase Manager, preferably in joinery, furniture, cabinetry, or fit-out sectors.
Strong knowledge of timber and woodworking materials, plus familiarity with outsourced trades (metal, stone, glass, Corian, upholstery).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings to specify outsourced components accurately.
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
Proactive coordination with Project, Design, and Production teams.
