Job Description

We are looking for a Joinery & Interiors Design Technical Engineer on an urgent basis. This is a very critical role which helps in bridging

design, production and site execution

for joinery and interior fit-out projects. This position requires strong expertise in design coordination, production drawing drafting, joinery fabrication, installation, and project execution. The engineer will lead coordination with draftsmen, design team, consultants, and site teams, ensuring

accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality delivery

aligned with client requirements and design intent.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Review & Coordination:

Review interior design (ID) drawings from design team/consultants and assess feasibility for joinery production and installation. Identify and resolve design discrepancies, technical issues, and conflicts prior to production drawings. Collaborate with joinery draftsmen and technical teams to produce accurate, detailed shop drawings. Provide design solutions and alternatives to design team/consultants/clients during the design development stage.

Production Drawings & Joinery Engineering:

Develop and review detailed production/fabrication drawings for joinery items. Ensure drawings are practical for manufacturing, cost-effective, and aligned with design intent. Translate design specifications into cutting lists, material schedules, and hardware specifications. Conduct design-stage risk assessments to prevent errors and delays in production and installation.

Site Execution & Installation Management:

Supervise and support joinery site teams during installation and finishing works. Conduct site measurements, surveys, and inspections to validate drawings against actual conditions. Coordinate with project/site engineers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth execution. Troubleshoot on-site challenges and provide quick, effective technical solutions. Ensure quality control during installation and alignment with approved drawings.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

Guide and coordinate with joinery draftsmen to ensure technical accuracy and timely completion of drawings. Collaborate with designers, project managers, procurement teams, and factory production heads to meet project requirements. Mentor junior engineers/draftsmen and promote best practices in joinery engineering.

Materials, Market Knowledge & Trends:

Stay updated with market trends, materials, finishes, and joinery accessories. Recommend innovative materials and value-engineered alternatives to enhance design and cost efficiency. Liaise with suppliers/vendors to ensure material compliance and timely procurement. Maintain awareness of sustainability practices and emerging technologies in joinery and interior design.

Quality Assurance & Documentation:

Conduct quality checks at design, production, and site stages. Maintain accurate as-built documentation upon project completion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in

Interior Design, Civil Engineering or Architecture.

Minimum

3 - 5 years' UAE experience

in joinery design, drafting, production, and site execution. Strong command of Auto CAD

and other design/drafting tools

. Excellent understanding of

joinery materials, hardware, finishes, and market standards

. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve design/production issues. High attention to detail when reviewing drawings and on-site works. Strong communication and leadership skills to manage teams and liaise with consultants, contractors, and clients.

Joinery Manager / Production Manager / Technical Manager.

Works with:

Joinery Draftsmen, Factory Production Teams, Site Teams, Procurement, and QA/QC.
