It Support Specialist / Systems Administrator (with Hotel Experience)

Job Description

Are you an IT professional with a passion for technology and a deep understanding of the unique demands of the hospitality industry? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Support Specialist/Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all our IT systems, directly impacting our ability to deliver exceptional service to our guests and support our staff.

Key Responsibilities:



System Management & Maintenance:

Administer, monitor, and maintain all IT infrastructure, including servers (Windows/Linux), networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls), Wi-Fi systems, and end-user devices (desktops, laptops, POS terminals). Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and ensure data integrity and security. Manage and maintain property management systems (PMS) such as Opera, Fidelio, Protel, or similar. Support and troubleshoot point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g., Micros, InfoGenesis, Squirrel) used in F&B and other outlets. Oversee and maintain Property Management Systems (PMS) integrations with other hotel systems (e.g., door locks, phone systems, minibar systems).

User Support & Troubleshooting:

Provide first and second-level technical support to all hotel departments (Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, Sales, etc.) for hardware, software, and network issues. Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, minimizing downtime and disruption to operations. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems. Offer training and guidance to staff on IT best practices and system usage.

Network & Security:

Ensure network stability, performance, and security across wired and wireless environments. Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures, including antivirus management, firewall rules, and access controls. Monitor for security breaches and respond to incidents promptly.

Vendor Management & Projects:

Liaise with external IT vendors and service providers for support, maintenance, and new implementations. Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, new technology deployments, and infrastructure improvements. Assist in budget planning for IT hardware and software.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets. Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and security.

Qualifications & Experience:



Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 1 years specifically within the hospitality industry (hotels, resorts, large-scale F&B operations).

Proven expertise with Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera PMS, Fidelio, Protel, or similar is highly preferred.

Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems like Micros, InfoGenesis, Squirrel, or similar.

Proficiency in administering Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP). Experience with network administration (TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi technologies, VPNs, firewalls - Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, etc.). Familiarity with hotel specific technologies like VoIP phone systems (e.g., Mitel, Avaya), CCTV systems, Digital Signage, and Guest Internet Access solutions. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSA, CCNA are a plus. Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as required by operational needs.
