Role Purpose

We are seeking a

hands-on IT/OT Senior Technician

to lead the system integration, commissioning, and operational IT/OT support of our

MARIP unmanned surface vessel fleet

. This role is central to vessel build, factory and sea trials, and operations, working closely with shipyards, automation partners, operations teams, and clients.

This is a

technical, delivery-focused role

, not a desk-based IT position.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-on integration and configuration of onboard IT/OT systems across multiple unmanned vessels (12m and 24m) Design and implement: Vessel network architecture (VLANs, IP schemes, routing) Redundant LAN/WAN and remote connectivity solutions Execute system integration alongside shipyard and automation partners Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and early operations Provide operational IT/OT support for active unmanned vessels Coordinate with OEMs, subcontractors, internal engineering teams, and clients Troubleshoot system-level issues under shipyard and live operational conditions Contribute to cybersecurity, access control, and secure remote operations Support class, client, and compliance documentation

Required Experience & Skills

Essential

Proven experience with

maritime, industrial, or mission-critical IT/OT systems

Strong networking knowledge (VLANs, routing, firewalls) Hands-on experience with

Linux and Windows environments

Experience working in newbuild, retrofit, or shipyard environments an advantage Strong troubleshooting and system integration capability Fluent English (spoken and written)

Preferred

Experience with

USVs, ROVs, or remote-operated systems

Knowledge of

VSAT, cellular bonding, redundant comms

Familiarity with

FAT / SAT processes

Exposure to class-driven projects (DNV, ABS, RINA, Lloyd's, etc.) Previous Middle East shipyard experience useful

Technically strong, practical, and hands-on Takes ownership and responsibility Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure yard environments Able to work across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, automation) Solution-oriented and resilient
