Job Summary
The IT Officer is responsible for leading and managing all information technology operations within the clinic. The role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient IT systems that support clinical services, patient safety, administration, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands on leadership role within a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure and Systems Management
Oversee and maintain all IT infrastructure including servers, networks, firewalls, WiFi, and internet connectivity.
Ensure uninterrupted operation of clinical and administrative systems including INSTA, ERP, EMR, HIS, LIS, RIS, PACS, billing, HR, and ZOHO finance systems.
Manage clinic hardware including computers, printers, scanners, access control systems, Bio Matrix, POS, and medical device integrations.
Ensure system availability and performance to support continuous clinical operations.
Cybersecurity and Data Protection
Develop, implement, and enforce IT security and cybersecurity policies.
Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, UAE data protection laws, and healthcare information security standards.
Implement data backup, recovery, access control, and encryption measures.
Monitor systems for security threats, breaches, and vulnerabilities and take corrective action immediately.
Ensure patient data confidentiality at all times.
Technical Support and Operations
Provide L1, L2, and Level 3 technical support to clinical and non clinical staff.
Supervise IT support activities and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Minimize system downtime and ensure rapid response to critical incidents.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for system support and maintenance.
Project and Vendor Management
Plan and manage IT projects including system upgrades, new implementations, integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.
Evaluate new healthcare technologies and recommend improvements aligned with clinic needs.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, SLAs, and AMC agreements.
Prepare project plans, budgets, and timelines.
Policies, SOPs, and Documentation
Develop and maintain IT policies, SOPs, and user guidelines.
Maintain documentation for systems, network diagrams, licenses, and configurations.
Conduct IT and cybersecurity awareness training for staff.
Procurement and Asset Management
Oversee procurement of IT hardware, software, and licenses.
Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and lifecycle management records.
Ensure cost effective and compliant IT solutions.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
Develop, maintain, and test IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Ensure backup systems are functional and regularly tested.
Lead system recovery during outages or emergencies.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum five years of IT experience with at least two years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare environment is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of networking, servers, cybersecurity, backups, and healthcare IT systems.
Experience with DHA systems and healthcare compliance requirements is highly preferred.
