The Candidate

As IT Manager, you will join a committed team, driven with the intent of delivering \xe2\x80\x98FIVE-star\xe2\x80\x99 experiences to an international diaspora in the heart of vibrant Dubai and Zurich.

As our ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly active environment. Your organizational, communication, and leadership skills are second to none and you enjoy developing guest solutions that break boundaries.
We are looking for a natural self-starter who demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities, can focus on, and execute, tasks with a sharp eye for detail. An outgoing, people-friendly personality with an ability to think \xe2\x80\x98on your feet\xe2\x80\x99 during changing situations is also essential.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll work closely with the management team to develop constantly evolving service goals.
Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes and fulfils guest incidents and requests as per FIVE service standards.
  • Captures and documents both Guest and Colleague incidents and requests formally using the Support Desk Management System.
  • Works closely with business users to ensure optimization of applications, looks at ways to improve usage and helps develop automated business processes.
  • Adhere to IT Policies amongst the team, ensures peers and colleagues follow and understand the IT polices. Periodically conducts audits to check the compliance.
  • Proactively resolves faults and manages service delivery by way of recording incidents, service requests and resolutions.
  • Proactively monitors systems for both back of the house and guest facing, takes remedial measures to ensure service continuity. Develops trend analysis reports on reoccurring problems so that solutions can be established.
  • Embraces problems as an opportunity to seek improvement, using Problem Management techniques identifies options to solve both IT and business problems. Develops solutions and/or workarounds using these techniques to ensure a quick and rapid service recovery.
  • Shares IT knowledge amongst the team and the wider colleague community, shared industry trends and encourages team members to expose themselves to such trends as part of their personal development.
  • Manages and communicating the team schedule, ensuring that there is always sufficient coverage on duty.
  • Acts as a point of escalation for the team and for out of hours\xe2\x80\x99 support.
  • Maintains a cost-conscious solution driven approach, uses own resources where possible to resolve issues and deliver service.
  • Challenges the norms of the IT team to develop continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deploys IT equipment and software safely and securely into the FIVE Hotels and Resorts network. Adheres to local standards and policies for asset management and software installations. Documents new IT assets in Location Logic, obtains and files all colleague acceptance forms accordingly.
  • Periodically audits location logic to ensure compliance to IT standards, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains strong governance and change management protocols amongst the team to ensure appropriate documentation and approvals are obtained.
  • Practices vigilant IT Security best practices in line with IT policies and procedures.
  • Conducts IT Security awareness sessions with the user community working closely with the training department.
  • Keeps up to date with the latest technology trends and IT Services concepts.
  • Advocate FIVE Hotels and Resorts online support process to colleagues, encouraging them to report all incidents and service requests online.
  • Assists in the recruitment and onboarding of IT Support Specialists.
  • Works on development plans for the team, identifies technical skills gaps and actively co-ordinates appropriate training.
  • Conducts performance management reviews in conjunction with IT Manager for the team, identify areas of focus and development. Recognizes and rewards hard work and high performance, encourages and supports good work ethics.
  • Maintains an accurate IT inventory and asset repository using IT Asset Management System.
  • Ensures all software and IT access forms are completed and filled according to policy.
  • Working closely with the IT Manager conduces vendor management initiatives to ensure vendors are providing business value and service levels.
  • Project manages IT implementations, working closely with vendors to ensure project scope is delivered on budget and on time.
