We are currently recruiting for Investment Accountant Specialist for a leading government entity based in Abu Dhabi. The role holder is responsible for ensuring the Fund\'s investment transactions accounting and control activities are extensively controlled through the monitoring and review of the custodian, fund manager and General Partner activities. Specifically,

- Reconcile the monthly investment accounting reports and journals provided by the custodian, fund managers and by private market investments
- Reconcile the Fund\'s trial balance to the Custodian\'s trial balance position and private market investments position to ensure consistency in all sets of records
- Review and validate all monthly investment accounting reports and journals provided by the custodian and by private market investments
- Review & Analyze all the required reports to reflect the investment positions and transactions accurately
- Play an active role in the implementation, changes and improvements in the automated financial and management information system for the Fund
- Provide proactive input in conjunction with the Investment Division to the implementation, changes and improvements to the investment transaction, settlements, valuation (including fair value price discovery), control, compliance and reporting systems
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of the settlement and control of all investment activities executed by the Fund
- Ensure the accounting, reporting and disclosure of investment activities in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and internal investment policies
- Calculate and record all fees charged in respect of Investment Management, - - Custody and performance are calculated in accordance with agreements
- Ensure that all transactions related to capital calls, fees, distributions and valuation are reflected in the records
- Executes day-to-day operations of the investment accounting division and ensures adherence to defined systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets
- Awareness of financial risks of investment operations and information on existing controls in place to mitigate risks
- Ensure the timely and accurate production of IFRS compliant Financial
Statements with regard to disclosures and notes on investment related items
- Complete ad-hoc analysis and reports on request
- Review entries for inclusion in the interface to Fund\'s accounting systems to ensure that journals posted to Fund\'s trial balance are consistent with reports provided by the Custodian
- Review all updates to IFRS analyse the impact of any changes to IFRS and
maintain a log of all changes to IFRS.
- Independently review all private markets valuations as reported by nominated independent valuation agents
- Ensure policies and procedures are robust to ensure that the Fund\'s assets are safeguarded

Requirements:

- 12+ years of relevant experience within investment accounting and min 6 years\' experience in dealing with global custodians, private markets and General Partners
- Detailed knowledge of financial and accounting principles, in particular accounting for all types of investments including private markets, equities, bonds, derivatives and back office operations
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent degree in a relevant subject, Preferred Master\'s degree with relevant specialization, such as an MBA in Finance or accounting
- Relevant certifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, etc. can be advantageous
- Strong analytical skills supported by strong skills in Microsoft Office, with the ability to communicate technical maters clearly in person and in writing
