The Insulation Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions for
thermal insulation works
in oil & gas maintenance projects. Exposure toIPS / SPIR scopes
(Painting and Scaffolding) is considered an added advantage for integrated maintenance contracts.Key Responsibilities
Prepare
detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and BOQs
for thermal insulation works. Reviewtender documents, drawings, specifications, and client standards
. Conductsite visits
to assess insulation conditions and verify quantities. Developrate analysis
for insulation manpower, materials, cladding, and consumables. Coordinate with procurement formaterial and subcontractor quotations
. Support preparation oftechnical and commercial tender submissions
. Preparevariation and additional work estimates
during contract execution. Coordinate with operations teams to ensureestimate accuracy and constructability
. Ensure compliance withcontract requirements, HSE standards, and client specifications
. Maintain estimation records, historical cost data, and pricing models. Interface with IPS / SPIR teams where combined scopes are involved.Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or equivalent.5+ years experience
in thermal insulation estimation for oil & gas maintenance projects. Strong knowledge ofhot, cold, cryogenic, and acoustic insulation systems
. Understanding of insulation materials, cladding systems, and industry standards. Working exposure toIPS / SPIR contracts
is an advantage. Proficient inMS Excel
and estimation tools. Familiarity withQatar / GCC oil & gas clients
is preferred.Strong analytical and communication skills.
