Position Overview
ADNOC is hiring an experienced Instrumentation and Control Maintenance Technician in Abu Dhabi to carry out preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on plant instrumentation systems and equipment. The role ensures reliable operations, compliance with HSE standards, and accurate troubleshooting of control systems to support continuous plant performance.

Core Duties

  • Execute scheduled preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance activities on plant instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair control valves, transmitters, PLC, DCS, ESD, and field instruments with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct calibration of field instruments using HART communicators and ensure compliance with technical standards.
  • Provide technical feedback in SAP notifications, log maintenance tasks, and record work performed.
  • Support major and minor shutdowns, commissioning, and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Monitor equipment conditions, identify defects, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and safety.
  • Perform functional testing of systems, participate in condition monitoring, and support plant operations during emergencies and shutdowns.
  • Carry out new installations, modifications, and testing of control systems before handover to operations.
  • Ensure proper workshop housekeeping, calibration, and servicing of tools and testing equipment.
  • Identify required spare parts using technical manuals and coordinate procurement.
Ideal Profile
  • Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • At least 5 years' hands-on experience in the maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems in oil, gas, or petrochemical plants.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE practices for field maintenance activities.
  • Skilled in reading engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and using testing devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.
  • Experience with SAP maintenance operations and basic computer tools.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to prepare technical reports in English.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintenance of control valves, transmitters, and field calibration equipment.
  • Awareness of MCMS, PLC, DCS, and ESD software environments.
