Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and modification of instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules, prepare detailed task lists, and oversee their execution for all instrument and control systems
  • Conduct root cause analysis and residual life assessments for critical equipment, recommending corrective actions to enhance system reliability
  • Provide technical advice on resolving chronic operational issues and evaluate the need for major repairs or spares replacement in line with engineering standards
  • Participate in risk assessments and develop recommendations to mitigate identified operational hazards
  • Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, initiate procurement proposals for new equipment, and control unwanted stock items
  • Prepare maintenance procedures, method statements, and shutdown activity schedules in alignment with plant requirements
  • Coordinate with other departments to optimize manpower, maintenance schedules, and shutdown planning for minimal downtime
  • Support project teams with instrumentation design reviews, commissioning, and compliance with ADNOC's engineering and safety standards
  • Initiate and manage plant change requests (PCRs), evaluating feasibility and implementation timelines
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or Control Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation and control maintenance within the oil and gas or petrochemical sector
  • In-depth knowledge of instrument systems, control loops, PLC/DCS configurations, and industrial safety standards
  • Proficient in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and failure analysis methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities across departments
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
