JOB TITLE: INSTRUMENT ENGINEER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oil wells - natural and ESP producers, and associated control panels.
  • Instrument Technical Rooms (ITRs) at well pads.
  • SMART well control system with interfacing, programming and integrating to well control system, HIPPS, RTU and DCS at CGF.
  • Water Injection wells.
  • Water supply wells.
  • Disposal well.
  • Multi-port selector manifolds.
  • Multi-phase flow-meters.
  • Multi-Phase Pump packages.
  • Instrument Air compressor package.
  • Nitrogen generation unit.
  • Water Injection system.
  • Drains system with pumps and vent.
  • Export pipeline with block valve station, pig launcher and receiver.
  • Smart Field Instruments.
  • Custody Transfer and Metering.
  • Control valves and loop checks.
  • Emergency Diesel Generator set.
  • Chemical Injection Package.
  • Diesel Supply & Storage Package.
  • Potable Water System.
  • Service, Sanitary and Wastewater Treatment Package.
  • Ensure Instrumentation maintenance schedules are executed to plan.
  • Author the instrument and control section in the weekly and monthly reports.
  • Work with the CMMS Planning Engineer to ensure maintenance routines are accurate and justified. Appraise and update preventative maintenance routines in CMMS as applicable.
  • Capability to perform Level 1 and 2 Breakdown Maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Input to 90 day and 28 day planned works.
  • Participate in technical and HSE audits, inspections as prescribed by Manager.
  • Review critical instrument spares holdings.
  • Review MOCs for technical accuracy and delivery and execute as directed.
  • Provide direction on priority of work.
  • Provide clarity on instrument issues for root cause analysis studies Participate in troubleshooting and emergency/ breakdown maintenance Participate/ provide inputs in HAZOP, SIL, FMEA, RCA workshops Provide answer to technical queries related to instrument equipment Guide and coach Sub-contract personnel on instrument maintenance.
  • Be conversant with Contract KPls and support their delivery and attainment at all times.
  • Ensure good knowledge of the Contract.
  • Participate in, or cooperate with, internal or external audits respectively.
  • Attend the weekly management meeting.
  • Compile or receive detailed written Handover prior to; and completion of leave and/or field breaks.
  • Have a full awareness of the Company Code of Conduct and Business Ethics. Compile / distribute comprehensive reports as necessary.
  • Strong HSE awareness in the following areas:
  • Risk recognition / risk awareness.
  • Permits to Work, Toolbox Talks & Checklists.
  • Awareness of HS and N hazards.
  • Correct use of PPE.
  • Instrument and control system isolations Simultaneous Operations hazards Dropped objects & trip hazard mitigation Working at height.
  • Report HSE incidents and all near misses.
  • Working knowledge of engineering design, standards and code.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • 15+ years' experience in Petrochemical or Oil and Gas operations on a major contract.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Instrument Engineering.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Proven knowledge of SMART instrumentation.
  • Proven knowledge of predictive, maintenance.
  • Can create systems to track and improve maintenance operations good knowledge of CMMS, preferably with SAP-PM exposure Excellent HSE appreciation and awareness.
  • Willingness to work and foster good working relationships in an integrated team from diverse locations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral English is essential, supported by good report writing ability.
  • Working knowledge of Arabic advantageous.
