Job description

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Abu Dhabi for a: Sr. Instrument Engineer
Job Purpose:

This position is a unique opportunity to provide all aspects of electrical equipment engineering/technical support and assistance to offshore team.
Your main duties will be:

  • Ensure availability of procedures, personnel, spare parts, special tools and other resources necessary to accomplish instrumentation maintenance work.
  • Provide of technical support for preparation of complex maintenance and repair works, method statements and procedures, comprehensive inspections and tests, participation in such works if required.
  • Identify repetitive failures and malfunctions of instrument and control equipment, analyses them and suggests improvements; Prepare inspection and failure reports.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) studies as needed;
  • Provide coaching and support for other personnel in the area of instrumentation and control
  • Take part in operational work planning based on work orders in the CMMS SAP PM system and control the execution of work orders approved in CMMS SAP
  • Involved in maintenance planning within the job responsibilities assigned by WPSE procedure, particularly, creates, reviews, fills in, completes, closes out maintenance notifications and Work Orders in CMMS SAP PM, participates to daily and weekly maintenance planning meetings;
  • Ensure availability of personnel, materials, and other resources for scheduled works.
  • Prepare work packs and method statements for complex works;
  • Distribute the work assignments between subordinated personnel, issues PTW, conducts toolbox talk meetings, monitors work performance progress during the day;
  • Ensure that maintenance under his responsibility is carried out in strict accordance with Company’s maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, and standard industry practices

Profile

Ideally you will have graduated in Bachelor's degree in electrical / electronic / instrumentation, major in automatic control, instrumentation, metrology with minimum 10 years of work experience in oil & gas industry.
  • At least 5 years of working as an instrumentation engineer
  • Practical experience in instrumentation, automation, measuring and process control equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard principles and methods of the organization of maintenance of instruments of oil and gas facilities;
  • HSE competence.
  • Experienced CMMS SAP PM user
You are Intermediate in English Language You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
