Key Responsibilities
Check site conditions to confirm suitability prior to commencement of construction activities.
Observe, inspect, and record construction works to ensure execution aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and methods.
Verify that site instructions are correctly implemented by the contractor.
Maintain detailed inspection records, including tests conducted, work executed, approvals, and rejections.
Ensure materials delivered to site are approved, compliant with specifications, and properly stored.
Monitor site safety practices and report any non-compliance to the Assistant Resident Engineer or Resident Engineer.
Measure completed works when required and maintain accurate records.
Assist in the review of shop drawings and preparation of as-built drawings.
Ensure all construction activities strictly comply with approved plans, specifications, and quality requirements.
Maintain a comprehensive daily diary covering work activities, issues, labor, equipment, approvals, and rejections.
Interface with the public and adjacent stakeholders to minimize construction impacts.
Coordinate daily with contractor foremen to guide proper execution of works.
Coordinate with other discipline inspectors, surveyors, and laboratories for sampling, testing, and quality assurance.
Report any poor workmanship, non-compliance, or improper construction methods to the ARE or RE.
Process inspection requests and maintain accurate tracking and status records.
Maintain day works records where applicable.
Actively participate in health and safety initiatives on site and maintain professional but firm conduct with contractors.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 5 years of total experience with strong exposure to material inspection for infrastructure projects.
Sound knowledge of civil engineering materials, testing methods, and construction quality requirements.
Experience working on Abu Dhabi infrastructure projects with authority coordination exposure.
Ability to read, interpret, and enforce compliance with drawings and technical specifications.
