Job Description
A CDP or Chef de Partie in an Indian restaurant is responsible for an essential part of the kitchen operation. He or she reports directly to the head chef and works in collaboration with other chefs to ensure a smooth kitchen service. Job description:
- Preparing and cooking authentic Indian cuisine using traditional ingredients and techniques to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring that all dishes are presented to a high standard and are ready for service at the appropriate time.
- Supervising junior chefs and ensuring that they are performing their duties to the best of their abilities.
- Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, including food preparation areas and storage areas.
- Managing inventory levels, ordering stock, and ensuring that all stock is appropriately stored and labeled.
- Following food safety guidelines and ensuring that all equipment is cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Creating menus, ensuring that dishes are cost-effective, and reducing waste.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as front-of-house and management, to ensure that the restaurant runs smoothly.
- Contributing to the development of new dishes and experimenting with new ingredients and cooking techniques.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and innovations, and attending training courses as required.
