The purpose of the project is to improve the quality of education for deaf children and youth in Morocco. This purpose will be achieved through sustainably improving the performance and capacity of Moroccan Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and regional teacher training centers (CRMEFs) to provide quality teacher preparation and professional development in bilingual deaf education.

Position duration: August 2022 - June 2025. Responsibilities

The Inclusive Education Expert will be responsible for supporting the Chief of Party by:

Providing technical input and supporting the development of the Activity Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning plan, as well as the methodology and associated tools. Providing technical input into the design and implementation of all-inclusive education activities including mapping and start-up assessments. Supporting the drafting and implementation of annual work plans ensuring high-quality services are provided to key stakeholders. Supporting the design, preparation, and delivery of inclusive education training to Moroccan HEIs. Working in close collaboration with the COP and DevTech Home office staff to coordinate STTA support, plan activities, and ensure timely implementation. Working collaboratively with stakeholders and other team members. Applying inclusive education expertise to ensure activities are evidenced-based and aligned to the Moroccan context and local needs.

Candidates must have technical knowledge of inclusive education, pre-service teacher programming, and bilingual deaf education that takes an empowerment approach.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field, including teacher training, inclusive education, Moroccan sign language, education systems strengthening, bilingual deaf education etc. In depth knowledge in the teaching of sign language. Familiarity with USAID tools or other international organizations and methodologies to improve inclusive education outcomes. Demonstrated ability to apply technical expertise in inclusive education to local contexts to improve local education programming and influence policy. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior management and as part of a team to deliver results on time. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret multiple sources of information to make sound, evidence-based judgments. Four years' experience in implementing medium to large scale interventions in inclusive education and/or pre-service teacher training programs for bilingual deaf education in a developing country context, preferably in Morocco. Fluency in written English (CV's must be submitted in English). Fluency in sign language. Modern Standard Arabic desirable but not required.
