Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on-site.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Assist in risk assessments and develop safe work practices for various construction tasks.
Support in the preparation and delivery of HSE training programs for workers and subcontractors.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of HSE programs and initiatives.
Ensure that safety equipment, PPE, and emergency procedures are in place and followed by all site personnel.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
Investigate accidents, incidents, or near-misses and assist in reporting findings and corrective actions.
Promote safety awareness and foster a culture of safety within the team.
Assist in ensuring that environmental regulations are adhered to, including waste management and pollution control.
Liaise with project managers and supervisors to ensure timely compliance with HSE requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in an HSE-related role within the residential construction industry (preferred).
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, policies, and best practices.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures.
Familiarity with local building codes and environmental regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Certifications:
Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Safety, or related field (preferred).
NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar HSE certification is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with regular site visits to construction locations.
Standard working hours with the possibility of additional hours depending on project deadlines.
