HR Specialist
This role will support our UAE Business operation, to ensure the delivery of the People Strategy with the role holder being the conduit between the business and the wider HR organisation, ensuring excellence in HR service delivery.
The role will also lead in providing guidance and support to management and employees on a range of HR issues which involve managing Employee Relations, supporting all day to day case management whilst utilising analytics to observe trends and drive a proactive agenda of interventions/activity that will enhance employee engagement and retention to support business growth, through improved employee productivity and capability.
In addition. the role supports the development of local HR policies and procedures, the upskilling of managers in their understanding of, and implementation of these.
Responsibilities:
To understand key performance issues and objectives and to contribute to delivery of overall business goals through the delivery of the HR Plan.
  • To support the business for future growth, moving into more commercial ways of working and talent needs.
  • To enable the business to achieve its goals by having the right people, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time.
  • Engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels to support delivery of the business plan and maintain effective working relationships.
  • To champion and implement HR initiatives across functions and business units and function as an ambassador for the HR function.
  • To champion communication and staff engagement within the business.
  • To identify issues and trends and explore underlying causes in order to provide effective HR solutions.
  • Contribute to or manage HR projects.
  • Develop and maintain clear and effective local HR policies in line with current legislation and meeting business needs, ensure that those policies are understood and complied with in the Business.
  • To identify and feedback issues to the senior HR management team for cross business solutions.
  • Oversee all Employee Relations activity in the business ensuring that all cases are managed and documented effectively, providing coaching and advice to managers as appropriate.
  • Use a data-driven approach to proactively identify ER trends and work with the Head of HR to design interventions.
  • Keep abreast of key employment law developments.
  • With the Head of HR, contribute to the implementation of Organisational Design changes/ capability initiatives to support the Business Unit growth plans.
    Tasks:
    • Function as trusted advisor and coach to our people managers by building strong relationships and providing a commercial people perspective when advising on cases/ building out capability.
    • Lead and provide creative solutions to complex Employee Relations challenges throughout the employee lifecycle including performance, well-being, whistleblowing, investigations, disciplinary, grievance, organisational change and restructuring activity, keeping abreast of all legislative changes and best practice, implementing solutions in line with company values and policy.
    • Build training needs analysis based on case load/ analytics and enable delivery for Managers to drive self-management of teams.
    • Ensure any changes to policy and legislation linked to policy is communicated to all managers and leaders within the business unit where necessary.
    • Supporting local diversity and inclusion (D&I) activity to help develop and retain a diverse group of talented people.
    • Assists the Head of HR to communicate and implement HR programs that support the business goals and drive results.
    • Point of contact for all HR administration related activities during onboarding and offboarding process.
    • Assists in preparing HR related monthly reports.
    • Support in payroll process through checking of input documentations and following up on administrative validation of employees\xe2\x80\x99 attendance on system.
    • Co-lead and drive project processes and HR initiatives with the HR Team while proactively looking for new ways to improve wherever required.
    • Assesses a range of issues and employs critical thinking skills to focus on and deploy creative and fiscally responsible solutions to manage cost.
    • Contributes to continuous improvement/lean initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR function.
      Behavioural Competencies:
      • Effective coaching and influencing skills and demonstrable ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders.
      • Confident with using and interpreting data for reporting purposes and to identify trends to inform priorities.
      • Able to manage a diverse and complex case load and determine priorities/ assess risks.
      • Able to work at pace and adapt to changing circumstances.
      • Results/outcome focused.
        Technical Competencies:
        • Experience across the full HR spectrum/life cycle.
        • Sector experience is not important although experience of a manufacturing/ industrial/ logistics environment preferred.
        • Change management experience.
        • Good judgement and analytical skills to assess options and craft solutions, whilst identifying and evaluating risks.
        • Able to make links between business strategy and HR interventions.
        • Excellent people management skills
        • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to progress and prioritise a multi-faceted workload and manage systems and processes effectively.
          Education:
          • Ideally Degree educated with CIPD level 5 or 7, or Local equivalent.
            Experience:
            • Able to influence and align themself to people at all levels.
            • Experience as a HR professional with sound employment law knowledge and employee relations knowledge.
            • HR Experience within a fast-paced environment.
            • Already based in the UAE with a thorough understanding of local UAE law.
            • Experience of a standalone role
            • Minimum of two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience within a similar HR Generalist role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering business
            • Influencing change with key stakeholders.
            • Coaching Managers.
            • Strong business and commercial awareness.
            • Comfortable challenging the status quo.
            • Agile worker can adapt quickly change and reactive in a positive way.
            • Knowledge of Compensation and Benefits would be advantageous.
            • Fluent English language written/spoken and to a commercial drafting level of quality is required.
            • Fluency in Arabic is desirable.
