Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate

Head

Fishmonger

to join our team for an exciting new opening in Dubai. The ideal candidate must have expert seafood knowledge, exceptional butchery skills, and the confidence to engage with customers. You will be responsible for handling, preparing, and presenting the freshest seafood while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Expertly clean, fillet, portion, and prepare a variety of fish and seafood to the highest standards. Ensure proper storage, handling, and display of seafood to maintain quality and freshness. Provide expert recommendations to customers, offering insights on seafood varieties, cooking methods, and flavour pairings. Engage confidently with customers, delivering exceptional service and enhancing their overall experience. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure a seamless supply of high-quality seafood. Adhere to strict hygiene, safety, and food handling regulations as per Dubai Municipality guidelines. Monitor inventory, place orders, and minimise waste through proper portioning and storage techniques. Maintain a clean, organised, and well-maintained workstation and equipment.

Requirements

Proven experience as a skilled fishmonger in a high-end restaurant, fish market, or seafood retail environment. Strong knowledge of different fish species, shellfish, and seafood preparation techniques. Excellent knife skills and understanding of portion control. Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English; additional languages are a plus. Energetic, customer-friendly, and passionate about seafood and hospitality. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization. Must be legally eligible to work in Dubai or willing to relocate.
