This is an opportunity to join appro as a Head of Sales (Cards & Personal Finance). The role is based in the UAE.

Key Objective

Drive credit cards & personal finance sales volume and profitability

Role Responsibilities

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Owner of volume sales growth targets

\xc2\xb7 Lead & grow existing sales channels (Off-shore tele-sales, Direct sales) to generate credit cards applications volumes

\xc2\xb7 Build new customer acquisition channels for credit cards

\xc2\xb7 Draw up monthly plans to generate new business to achieve set sales targets and objectives

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for conversion targets throughout the customer acquisition funnel

\xc2\xb7 Owner of credit cards product P&L

\xc2\xb7 Work with the relevant teams within the Company to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and retention

\xc2\xb7 Enhance service levels through recommendation of improvements in operational processes, procedures and products based on customer feedback

\xc2\xb7 Ensure sales MI is updated per the required timeline

\xc2\xb7 Capture and share client feedback to help continuous improvement in product offering

People and Talent

\xc2\xb7 Motivate oneself to improve on selling and personal skills especially in meeting sales target, relationship management with internal and external stakeholders, time management, communication skill and recommending training in appropriate aspects.

\xc2\xb7 Upgrade oneself in knowledge and new developments in banking, financial and investment products and services and ensure that certification and licensing requirements for the job are obtained according to the timeline.

Risk Management

\xc2\xb7 Ensure compliance with the Company\xe2\x80\x99s standards and regulatory requirements pertaining to Money Laundering, CDD, and Data Protection.

\xc2\xb7 Participate in and/or support the Company\xe2\x80\x99s effort in combating money-laundering activities

\xc2\xb7 Exercise due care and diligence on matters related to Money Laundering and CDD in the day-to-day sales processes

\xc2\xb7 Acquire relevant knowledge and training, provide support to superior and subordinates.

\xc2\xb7 Zero tolerance \xe2\x80\x93 Fraud, Mis-selling

Governance

\xc2\xb7 Act and escalate quickly when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees.

\xc2\xb7 Work with multiple stakeholders to establish applicable risk / control framework to ensure that the Group\xe2\x80\x99s ability to remain within risk appetite is not materially threatened.

\xc2\xb7 Familiarise self with governance structures and mandatory processes the Company and the Group.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

\xc2\xb7 Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.

\xc2\xb7 Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. \xc2\xb7 Lead the credit cards sales to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.

\xc2\xb7 Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

\xc2\xb7 10+ years of experience in cards sales experience, preferably in the UAE

\xc2\xb7 Experience in managing and operating offshore tele-sales

\xc2\xb7 Experience in managing and operating third party direct sales agencies

\xc2\xb7 Experience in managing a direct sales team

\xc2\xb7 Sound knowledge of financial products and services.

\xc2\xb7 Good knowledge of current Fintech offerings

\xc2\xb7 Target oriented

\xc2\xb7 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to deal with all levels of people, often in complex and difficult situations.

\xc2\xb7 Team player who shows initiative and assertiveness.

\xc2\xb7 Self-motivator who is keen to upgrade improve personal knowledge and skills to meet job requirements

About SC Ventures

SC Ventures (\xe2\x80\x9cSCV\xe2\x80\x9d) was established in 2018 with the purpose of \xe2\x80\x9cRewiring the DNA in Banking\xe2\x80\x9d by bringing three distinct areas together:
  • The eXellerator Lab, enabling innovation at large in the Bank by supporting intrapreneurs and their ideas, collaborating with fintech\xe2\x80\x99s through the SCV Fintech Bridge and engaging with clients and co-creation ideas
  • The Investment Fund (\xe2\x80\x9cFund\xe2\x80\x9d), tasked to acquire minority stakes in fintech companies (\xe2\x80\x9cfintechs\xe2\x80\x9d) whose technology has been successfully validated in the Group

There are c.100 team members (excluding individual ventures), including dedicated colleagues from the Group\xe2\x80\x99s support functions, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nairobi, London and San Francisco.
