Overview

Knight Frank currently offers a spectrum of consulting and transactional services to a broad range of B2B, B2C and B2G clients. We are now seeking to provide an additional value proposition via Project and Development Services (P&DS) and are looking to hire a Head of Construction Management for our Saudi Arabia business. This will be a dynamic role, working across geographies, collaborating with existing service lines to build a new vertical. You will be expected to business develop, ensure the very best client outputs and the recruitment of a market leading team.

Responsibilities

Building the Construction Management Business

Ensure there is a full business plan in place for the future evolution of services around the construction management business with a focus on revenue growth and margins. Support the country Head of P&DS with recruiting key hires for the team to achieve the business goals for the future. Ensure all hires are in line with the business plan. Work with the country Head of P&DS to ensure that the construction management business/revenue is appropriately balanced in terms of income diversification. Explore ways to maintain net profit margin fee income per fee earner. Co-ordinate pitches and to ensure a compelling and impactful proposition. Develop research and marketing material to define the service line's market position. Promote the service line on social media in coordination with the Marcomms team. Lead the country construction management business development strategy in collaboration with the country Head of P&DS. Take responsibility for the growth of country construction management business in line with the agreed targets. Identify potential business leads and opportunities and formulate pursuit strategies to secure opportunities that are in line with the business plan and objectives. Actively manage pipeline. Refer business leads or other potential fee earning opportunities into other parts of the regional and global business. Assist other service lines in securing cross-selling and multi-discipline opportunities. Review bid documentation (RFPs) in collaboration with the country Head of P&DS and Legal team to identify commercial and contractual risks and the appropriate response to any areas of concern in the bid. Collaborate with country Head of P&DS to determine whether bid opportunity is to be pursued. Lead the preparation of bid documentation and bid presentations in conjunction the team. Participate in bid presentations to clients and in post-bid actions required up to agreement of and execution of contracts. Collaborate with team to ensure that all bids and opportunities are logged and kept up-to-date in the regional bid tracker. Ensure timely action and effective followed up. Collaborate with Marcomms to prepare appropriate marketing collateral.

Managing the Business

Contribute to strategic direction of the service line locally and regionally, setting strategic objectives, goals and annual business plan targets for growth. Take ownership for delivery of the agreed P&L. Collaborate on preparation of annual operational business plan, non-financial business objectives and KPIs for agreement. Monitor and track status towards achievement of financial and non-financial objectives and KPIs and provides updates to Head of P&DS. Propose corrective action where progress is not in accordance with agreed objectives. Oversee budgets, costs, and performance. Provide people leadership and mentoring, including career growth and development plans for all team members. Ensure best practices and compliance. Build and maintain goodwill, confidentiality and trust with prospective and existing clients at all times in order to foster the professional image of the Partnership. Monitor teams to improve engagement.

Expanding the Team

Support country Head of P&DS in pursuits and recommendations for resources. Engage in selection, interviewing and recruitment of candidates and finalize conditions of offer with HR. Collaborates with country Head of P&DS to further the Diversity and Inclusion agenda and targets. Support staff in Talent Management and collaborate with country Head of P&DS to carry out moderation of results and compilation of overall performance summaries and data analysis. Maintain a database of capabilities and experience of team members and prepares an annual HR Capital account for the service line. Promote a client-centric culture and monitor service delivery standards and client feedback with a view to identifying any real or perceived shortfalls in service delivery. Engage with country Head of P&DS to assist in determining any corrective measures required to ensure that these are implemented. In collaboration with Head of P&DS as appropriate, periodically reviews existing standards, systems, and tools with a view to continuous improvement. Act as an approver of all outgoing contractual correspondence relating to country construction management appointments before being reviewed by the country Head of P&DS and the authorized signatory. Develop a recruitment plan for all positions to onboard a high performing multi-disciplined team with a strong collaborative ethos and problem-solving mentality in line with the regional P&DS business plan. Work with the country Head of P&DS and HR to use data insights for tracking people data to ensure attrition rates and other people metrics are measured, forecast and remedial action taken where necessary. Ensure a culture of high performance through effective performance management frameworks aligning to fit for purpose reward and recognition programmes. Take leadership of the team's recruitment involving the country Head of P&DS as required. Effectively implement the country P&DS strategic directions and business plan. Ensure the development and execution of the People strategy aligned to delivering outcomes necessary to meet the overall strategy. Ensure there is Business Services support in place relevant for size of business and managed efficiently to be a high performing team. Brand

Work with the country Head of P&DS and Marcomms to continuously improve the pitching documents and presentations, marketing material and product marketing strategies to provide the best product in the region for both domestic and international sales. Other Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) "end to end" and oversee your team's projects to ensure client satisfaction. Lead the team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant project deliverables. Manage and procure the company's agreements, client/vendor agreements, company/vendor and supplier agreements and framework agreements. Monitor adherence to policies and procedures regarding internal governance and controls and KPIs. Deliver to the scope of services as contracted with clients whilst managing the firm's exposure. Keep abreast of regulatory changes affecting development requirements to take advantage of or compensate for changes which may impact projects.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Project Management or a related field. Minimum 10 years' experience in similar industry, with at least 5 years prior experience in the Middle East. Minimum 5 years in a leadership role. Major international and KSA construction management experience is essential, with experience managing large and/or complex projects. Must have PMC/PMO experience within a reputable PMC International firm. Strong business development skills and connections with clients, authorities, contractors, consultants and vendors in KSA. Ability to understand all aspects of construction management projects effectively and efficiently from initiation to closeout. Broad understanding of financial modelling and budgeting of services. Broad background of project management. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Great people management skills with an ability to interact at an executive level with both external and internal clients. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures. Strong leadership and employee management skills. Ability to effectively structure, staff and manage projects and teams to ensure there is clarity of expectation, timely execution, corrective action when needed and successful outcomes. Structured approach to problem solving with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics. Aims to fix the ultimate root causes to drive sustainable change. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Understanding of regional business culture and regulations. Certifications and Licenses: PMP, RICS, CIOB, or C.Eng desired but not essential. Software: Microsoft Office programs to a proficient level. Language skills: Bilingual Arabic and English, both written and verbal Travel: Flexible attitude towards travelling.
