Person:

Reporting to the Executive Director Finance & Administration (EDFA), the Head of People & Culture (HoPC) will be a member of the Operational Management Team and play a vital role in the University's achievement of its operational and strategic goals.

The HoPC is primarily responsible for partnering with the business to design, develop and implement strategies that will attract, engage, and develop employees and build upon a high-performance values-driven culture. This position will provide strategic HR advice, improve business practices, lead projects and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

The Head of People & Culture will foster a corporate culture that exemplifies the UOW Global Enterprises (UOWGE) Corporate Values (passion, innovation, integrity, collaboration, courage, excellence).

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:
Bachelor's degree in People & Culture or any related discipline
Extensive experience in a similar business partnering role in a commercial or professional services organisation.
Significant experience in interpreting and providing advice to all levels concerning relevant HR policy, procedure and legislation.
Desirable:
HR professional qualification i.e. Level 7 CIPD or equivalent
Experience in the Education / HE sector within the GCC region would be advantageous
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral).
Ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
High level of discretion and ability to work in environments requiring the strictest of confidence.
Sound negotiation and analytical skills and the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Ability to be innovative and find creative solutions to issues that can be complex.
Demonstrated understanding of contemporary HR practices and sound working knowledge of contemporary organisational development and workforce management tools, programs and strategy.
