We have a new and exciting position for a Head of People for a retail business in Abu Dhabi.

The Head of People will be responsible for the delivery of strategic and operational HR requirements and initiatives. This role will lead a team of HR professionals, and partner with management to deliver a best in class HR service that drives an employee-oriented, high performance culture and emphasises quality, productivity and high standards.

Duties will include \xe2\x80\x93

Development of the Human Resources Department

• Lead, motivate and develop a high performing HR function

• Oversee the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives to drive business performance

• Lead the development of department goals, objectives, and systems that align to business strategy

• Ensure that all HR policies, programs, and practices are reviewed regularly and keep management informed of new developments

• Preparation of regular reporting and updates on HR initiatives and metrics

Training and Development

• Lead and direct the annual performance management process, including performance development plans and employee development programs

Recruitment

• Lead the development of robust recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain a highly skilled and motivated workforce

Employee Relations

• Ensure the effective communication of HR policies, procedures and programs to employees

• Promote the development of positive employee relations and a high level of employee morale and motivation

• Coach and advise managers performance, disciplinary and grievance procedures

• Lead the implementation of company safety and health programs

Compensation & Benefits

• Establish pay practices that help to recruit and retain high performing employees

• Lead participation in salary surveys as necessary to understand and maintain competitive pay positioning in the local market

• Obtain cost effective, employee focused benefits and monitor the national benefits environment on an ongoing basis for options and cost savings

• Recommend changes in benefits offerings, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention

You must have a proven background in retail in the Middle East and Arabic speaking is desired.
