Accountable for the delivery of preventive Occupational Health and Hygiene Systems and Programs to employees working in a wide range of occupations and carry out related work activities at Qatalum, Smelter, Port and Power Plant facilities. Responsible to provide technical expertise, leadership and support in the Occupational Health area
:
Lead plant health audits and develop other resources to perform these audits
Provide support for tertiary prevention programs to facilitate early return to work from occupational and personal injuries/illness as part of a disability management program.
Oversee the assigned tasks of Occupational Hygiene staff to ensure primary prevention efforts to control occupational exposures which may lead to health concerns,
Oversee the assigned task to occupational Health Nurses to ensure secondary prevention services to monitor worker health such as annual/period medical examinations.
Promote and foster area collaboration in management of occupational health and hygiene issues
Develop and monitor occupational health and hygiene budgets
Ensure the development of nationals to take on adequate positions should be given special attention.
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the assigned organizational units and comply with established standards and procedures to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and that employees are motivated, understand what is expected of them, and perform according to the designated standards.
Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of the company practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department system, processes and practices, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Comply with all agreed occupational health, hygiene and safety regulations in order to protect personnel and physical assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy state in order that work can be carried out safely and effectively.
Adherence to world class best practices for health, hygiene safety, and environmental standards.
Ensure the departmental reports are prepared as per management request, in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.
Develop and gain approval for department policies and procedures ensuring their alignment to overall business objectives. Monitor and control implementation and advice on the policy application to ensure that they are properly communicated and widely understood.

Confirmation of the successful candidate is subject to securing all necessary licenses to practice medicine in the State of Qatar Minimum Qualification Required
Degree and certification in Medicine (Occupational Health preferred)
Certification/Experience in Industrial Hygiene field is highly desired
License to practice medicine in Qatar is mandatory
Required experience
10 - 12 years medical experience with recent experience in Occupational Health
