Role Purpose:
The Employee Engagement Manager is responsible for managing, enhancing and executing people engagement initiatives and programs in order to support a culture of excellence, high performance and engagement across the all the business units. The role holder is also responsible for implementing multiple forms of internal communication activities and programs to enable workforce inclusion and ensure that employees are updated about internal and external activities of the organization.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Engagement Programs
Identify and undertake all aspects of Program management related to workforce diversity, inclusion and staff engagement
Evaluate the success of employee engagement projects and initiatives and provide recommendations on how to enhance relevant activities
Review and analyse key external trends and influences on employee engagement strategies to incorporate best practices relevant to MAF Retail
Facilitate the creation of an action plan to address the employee engagement / internal customer satisfaction challenges
Internal Communication and Newsletters
Approve the content (HC initiatives, events calendar, talent development programs, new training, updates to HC policies and procedures) to be published in the newsletter
Collaborate with the HC department and other relevant departments to ensure that internal communications and messages are relevant, consistent, reliable and timely for all identified internal audiences
Initiatives to Increase Innovation
Assist the Employee Engagement section in leading activities of innovation at MAF Retail
Develop and maintain a strategy for creativity and innovation in MAF Retail that comprises the mechanism of communication with various stakeholder
Liaise with the L&D department and prepare a list of training programs, seminars, and workshops, relevant to creativity and innovation at the workplace
Create guidelines for the nomination of ‘MAF Innovation Awards’
Finalize list of nominees and monitor the process of evaluation for MAF Innovation Award
Policies and Procedures
Develop policies for Employee Engagement activities and ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to internal customers
Ensure continuous improvement of policies, processes, programs and procedures covering the activities of Employee Engagement
Human Capital Responsibilities
Assist with the implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
Develop and implement on the job-training for the team
Provide inputs for the development of annual manpower plan
Ensure the implementation of MAF Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedures

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:
Minimum Qualifications/education
Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, or Business Administration
Profession HR Certification such as CIPD, SHRM, and AHARI preferred
Minimum experience
5+ years’ experience in a similar position, 2+ years In retail
