HEAD OF EAL IN ABU DHABI FOR AN AUGUST 2026 START
A private American curriculum school is seeking to appoint a Head of EAL to be part of a close and collaborative team of educators and join an exciting transitional phase that has seen the school move to handsome and expansive purpose built premises. It is a happy school that is ambitious and keen to build on its current strengths, enjoying a wonderful family atmosphere in which many teachers have developed professionally under the strong and supportive guidance of the current headteacher.
It is essential that interested applicants have the relevant teaching qualifications and though American experience is preferred other backgrounds will be considered. There is an 80% Arabic and most students speak English as a second language so good skills of differentiation and cultural sensitivity are additional essential prerequisites.
Applicants must:

• have a commitment to excellence as a classroom teacher;
• be committed to the principles of 21st Century learning;
• demonstrate contemporary teaching methods and be competent in integrating technology into the curriculum;
• have experience with Web 2.0 applications;
• be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community.
• Have all required documentation to allow for ADEK approval.
• Candidates must be native English speakers, have strong experience in teaching English and leadership, along with verbal and written communication skills. Required a QFE 7 (Bachelor's Degree) AND QFE 5 (Diploma/ associate degree) to teach English as an Additional Language.
