Lead the Conceptual Development discipline of ADNOC for Upstream and Downstream.
Define and implement industry best-practices for Actions, Activities and Deliverables linked to Capital Projects technical scope development in the 3 front-end loading stages (ASSESS, SELECT, DEFINE) in support of the Group CEO mandate and overall group objectives.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Conceptual Development for Projects
Lead the Conceptual Development discipline, providing direction and advice to all Group Companies on Conceptual Development, enables the establishment of world class Conceptual Development capabilities & practices across the group
Manage the development and maintenance of Group standards, guidelines & best practices on Conceptual Development for major projects in ADNOC.
Manage the development, update and maintenance of the Conceptual Development competency assessment & management framework.
From project initiation to VAP Stage Gate 2 (Predefine) ensure that Group and company hydrocarbon maturation delivery according to plan, ensure robust reservoir depletion strategies and hydrocarbon maturation plans are in place for all assets.
Ensure quality of the technical assurance of the project, including capex, reserves and milestone forecasting, and obtaining technical approval for investment proposals.
Assess areas of the project that require active steer from Operations and ADNOC Project assurance.
Ensure that subsurface and facilities staff solicit input from the discipline heads and technical experts as required.
Assess and deliver the joint venture technical influencing strategy by contributing to and ownership of relevant areas of the development, as endorsed by the BLD.
Influence both Operators and the Joint Venture in order to deliver outcomes that are consistent with ADNOC objectives.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Project Management Knowledge community across the Group Companies.
Lead conceptual design for strategic and key projects as required by the businesses.
Investment and Valuations
Support the assessments of financial modelling, including analysis of historic and projected cash flows and measure of return and valuation (IRR and NPV).
Develop assumptions for different business case scenarios (Base Case, Upside, Downside), and provide advice on the capital of structures.
Verify the investment risks and quantify potential impact on returns.
Devise on the minimum required returns / discount rates.
Guide in measuring the impact of proposed investments on portfolio value creation and returns
Management
Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Department to achieve the Division objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Department in line with Division objectives.
Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Department and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP\'s), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Department in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.

Compile and provide input for preparation of the Division budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the Department budget levels.

Lead the implementation of approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Division work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Department in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Department KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.
Organisation Structure and Development
Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Department in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Department employees to meet HSE standards.
Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports
Prepare all Department MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.

Minimum Qualification
Masters degree in Earth Sciences, Petroleum Engineering, Engineering (Process is preferred)
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
18 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects in IOC and NOC, possibly with major international Contractors, with hands-on multi-disciplinary exposure to various aspects for Project Conceptualization and Engineering, such as subsurface, wells, surface engineering, operations & maintenance, technology and licensors evaluation and implementation,\xe2\x80\xa6.
Demonstrated mastery in own discipline, and understanding at Knowledge or Skill level in at least another technical discipline, distinctively outside the own core discipline (petroleum engineering, wells, engineering, technology, licensors, project services, operations & maintenance, construction, C&P,..)
Demonstrated multi-disciplinary integration skills, capable to articulate trade-offs between disciplines
Experience in multiple megaprojects and brownfield projects in either Upstream or Downstream; both would be ideal
At least 10 years of multi-disciplinary team management as Front-End development Manager / Petroleum Architect / Development Manager or Project Manager in all 3 FEL Stages (ASSESS, SELECT and DEFINE), with good understanding of EXECUTE (detailed design, procurement, project controls, construction, commissioning & start-up) and OPERATE (Operations & Maintenance).
Nominated Technical Authority of at least Level 2; Level 1 would be ideal
Good knowledge and experience of conceptual development discipline contribution (Through publications etc.)
Professional Certifications
Certification in Project Management (PMP)Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)
Certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus.
