Job Description

Responsible for leading the global centers of excellence (Shared Planning Centres - SPC), defining the CoEs vision and strategy. Participates in Global Ops Leadership Team to set priorities and manage key initiatives.

Develop new capabilities, building a culture of continuous improvement, improve the efficiency deploying new technology and integrating the long-term processes for the function.

Ensure all centres of excellences provide high quality of services to the terminals, enabling terminal's perform at their optimum level of planning and supporting the optimization of the service level to our customer and value-add to the business.

Responsibilities:

Drive the standard way of operating, covering standard work, performance management & data analysis, PDM, P&S, Improvement Management at the level of excellence.

Planning, Execution, Gate, resources planning, standard blueprint

Systems (TOS, DPOS, Kronos, DTSO, FES etc.) which should be incorporated digital operations cockpit.

Define standards for contribution to New Terminals Design- more with less.

Support Business review and quality review.

Support and define areas for Managing I-cycles and S-Cycles Standard in terminal global level.

Supporting SMEs Community.

Transformation: Projects, Improvement Management, Cost reduction

Implement operations training system

Communication with internal customer/suppliers (Commercial, HR, IT, AM, WOW, Safety)

Drive the Operations Modernization - R&D, development and industry leadership make Planning in APM Terminals superpower through enabling technology in partnership with Digital OPS teams.

Deliver static planning and yard strategies to terminals in scope as per agreed SLA's with due regard to safety, quality and productivity.

Establish and maintain performance criteria for the SPC's in liaison with direct manager. Monitor and report on performance (incl. cost), propose actions/initiatives to bridge gaps in performance.

Drive continuous improvement in operations across all terminals in scope through regular performance reviews (standard work), broad deployment of advanced TOS modules and best practices.

Build, maintain and enhance collaborative partnerships with management of terminals in scope, i.e. by offering support, training, advise, assist with problem solving where relevant.

Build excellent service and customer centric culture and organization. Deliver high quality services to customers as per the agreed metrics.

Build high performance and high engagement teams. Actively develop talent and values differences in people. Build bridges and counter silo thinking and demonstrate how to make a matrix organization work well.

Oversee correct and timely execution of terminal recharging process for cost of services to terminals in scope, preparing annual budgets for same for review.

Pro-actively maintaining staffing levels as required and providing training to enable delivery of SLA service levels (as a minimum) consistently.

Manage, motivate and engage the planning team, structure tasks and goals, set priorities, provide leadership to direct reports.

Maintain and enhance relationships with external customers (Lines' planning centers management) as required to drive planning-related productivity improvements, solve planning quality issues, escalated disputes etc.

Develop a state-of-the-art training program to improve capability to COEs team

Support global strategic initiatives and contribute to the development/improvement of (standard) processes and measurements and act as SME in the development of EasyOps_SPC.

Seek for and leverage the opportunities available in the Region or globally within APMT for expanding SPC service offerings and solutions. Run SPC as service organisation.

Leverage automation and digitization to continuously improve processes and efficiencies.

Skills Required: University degree in Logistics, Operations Management or process/industrial engineering or equivalent experience. 10 years experience in container terminal operations environments. Solid understanding of the container shipping industry end-to-end and an ability to relate with shipping company and other associated industry managers. In depth knowledge of planning manpower & equipment. Extensive understanding of operational processes and TOS. In depth knowledge of berthing planning process. Understanding of vessel stowage planning, vessel and yard operations. Requires some knowledge of accounting, billing, and associated documentation. Fluent in English and local language (where applicable). Experience in cost and productivity optimization through process optimization, as well as design and implementation of new operation procedures. Extensive understanding of modern terminal operations and terminal management systems Extensive knowledge of APM Terminals Operating System
