African MEP construction leader sought for fast-paced developer.

With interests in property development, private & public equity, hospitality & leisure as well luxury retail, our client is a multi-faceted and international conglomerate whose impressive sales and investments have ensured consistent cashflow and allowed them to remain agile. For several decades they have carved out a dominant market presence in the Middle East & have ventured with great success into North America, the Indian Ocean Islands, Africa and the United Kingdom. Their ability to swiftly respond to market changes is clearly evident in the 2020 launch of a data centre focused arm which has entered into Joint Ventures and undertaken various acquisitions in order to provide large scale co-location data-centres across the globe.
The African continent in particular presents a real opportunity to the firm where they have already made significant in-roads and have set up an impressive pipeline of projects. In order to deliver on these and future developments they are looking to appoint an individual to head up the team responsible for the construction of multiple sites. A hands-on Executive leader is sought who is able to drill down into the granular and vastly different technical and operational difficulties which each country presents, in order to deliver world class projects via both local and global consultants and contractors. As a relatively new venture the opportunity requires an person who is able to quickly assess the business needs and set up structures which complement their international framework in order to achieve results quickly. Someone who has delivered projects in a minimum of 2 different African countries and who has a deep understanding of MEP will be appointed to report directly to the global head of Data Centres. He / She would have a minimum of 15 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in construction which has seen them move into an executive leadership role as a country lead, managing director or c-suite for at least 2 years, where they are able to elaborate in detail regarding achievements both on-site and for the organisation as a whole which they have driven. Although based in Dubai for at least the first year, this must be seen as a roving role where you can expect significant travel and where relocation to Angola, Ghana, Kenya or any other African state is possible for you should the business deem it necessary in time.
