General Systems and Propulsion Team Leader Grade: 5 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The purpose of this job is Responsibility to the CDO Design Services Manager, you will be undertaking a Typhoon support/liaison role within the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) at KFdAB, Taif, Saudi Arabia The role requires the job holder to lead a small team of technical specialist providing on hand design support (general systems and propulsion design advice) to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) forward, depth and SMU maintenance organisation by responding to and approving General System and Propulsion Technical Queries and offering Design Authority advice to the RSAF utilising the Team Centre Query resolution process. Providing Support to the RSAF in generating National Instructions from Industry provided approved data. The role requires the job holder to carry out day to day liaison between the UK based 'In Service Support Team (ISST), Typhoon Design Support Team and the RSAF ensuring that service level agreements are met for Technical Queries and discrete tasking such as Logistic tasks and Repair instructions. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Day to Day management of a small team of Technical Specialists. Answering queries with specialist knowledge of appropriate aircraft systems, using approved data within the TSC, sourced from Technical Publications, TSC documentation or own system domain knowledge Provide main point of contact with industry with regards to General Systems and Propulsion. Liaising with query originator to fully understand query and populate Teamcentre system accordingly Providing initial analysis of queries to determine and agree acceptance, prioritisation and best route to providing an answer, liaising with appropriate stakeholders including the RSAF, TTSS and BTSC Confirming acceptance/rejection of queries, liaising with appropriate stakeholders, providing justification as appropriate Confirming and agreeing prioritisation of queries, liaising with appropriate Stakeholders Ensuring all queries, responses, status prioritisation is recorded on the Teamcentre system. Interfacing with European Industry via the BTSC at Warton, to obtain a response as appropriate Providing input to the status reporting process. Analysis of Technical Support Specialist Reports in order to identify 'bottlenecks' in the system and areas where improvements can be made. Corrective actions should then be suggested. Provide specialist support to the 3rd/10th/80th Squadron aircrew in terms of rapid query answering, interpretation of the Typhoon Release to Service, trials planning and System knowledge transfer. Assisting Maintenance and Line Technical Support staff in the resolution of on-aircraft problems Interfacing with the Typhoon Design Support Team UK on all technical matters to prevent duplication and ensure common approach to problems. Ensure also shared information. Assist in analysis of Technical Specialist Reports and data provided by In-Service Data Management Team in order to identify trends in maintenance and operational problem areas on Typhoon to identify where improvements can be made. Providing structured On-the-Job training for Saudi National Technical Specialist Staff, in the form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate. Providing Support to the RSAF in generating National Instructions from Industry provided approved data. Support to the production of the monthly reports and KPI claims. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Must be educated to Degree/HND level in a relevant engineering discipline or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training. Experience of aircraft general/flight systems and propulsion gained in an aerospace design or design support related environment. Capable of holding a design engineering signature. Experience of managing a team of technical specialists. Computer literate with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite. Capable of working independently, or as part of a team, under extreme pressure and to tight operational timescales. Understanding of Engineering, Design, Airworthiness, Safety and Quality standards. Knowledge of export control requirements (ITAR/USEC) Desirable Extensive proven experience of the Typhoon platform Experience of working with TrilogiView. Knowledge of PLM/Teamcentre. Experience of multi-tasking to manage a wide range of activities at differing levels of maturity.
