Ground Support Systems (GSS) Team Leader Salary: Competitive Grade: 5 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The Ground Support Systems (GSS) Team Leader will oversee, co-ordinate and manage the engineering and technical aspects encompassed in GSS. The Team Leader will provide management, leadership and direction to the GSS section, ensuring that day-to[1]day liaison between the GSS Manager, TSC, Fwd. Ops, and the RSAF GSS Managers is carried out and that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of any Engineering aspects that could affect GSS availability. In addition the GSS Team Leader will be responsible to the GSS Manager for the following:

The delivery of the GSS Administration Service IAW Salam Support Solution, Annex B to the RSAF Managing the needs and expectations of the RSAF GSS Management Team on a daily basis ensuring that they are aware of all GSS updates and or issues Management and delivery of all Typhoon GSS Administration activities associated with the mobilisation and maintenance of all GSS installations in support of RSAF Typhoon operations at main operating bases and KSA based deployments Understand all aspects of GSS and its associated systems and how their availability impacts on our Business objectives, and be able to convey to the team how their respective roles align with the overall Business plan JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The GSS Team Leader will assist the GSS Manager with the delivery of the GSS Administration Service, providing the continuous serviceability and availability of the various systems. Outline responsibilities include: Ensure that GSS operation and maintenance always complies with the relevant approved data and local processes/procedures are always followed Manage the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of system hardware and software related to the GSS Operational infrastructure to be utilised in support of GSS activities Represent the GSS area of operations at events and meetings as required Support project teams with technical issues in the design, planning, initialisation and rollout of solutions to provide GSS capability to the Salam organisation Liaising with the TSC and EIS key stakeholders on all relevant GSS technical issues and upgrades Presenting technical systems briefs to the RSAF as and when requested Act as the GSS single point of contact to manage and interface with outside agencies such as RSAF Squadron Commanders, RAF/MODSAP, Operations, TSC and Supporting UK teams Personally coach and mentor their team, principally those in a similar career path to support their development and increasing value to the business through the ePDR Review Manage the transfer of knowledge, counterpart development and consolidation activities with the RSAF GSS System Administrators and PC SN GSS employees Manage, record and report on the mandated business and technical related training for PC GSS employees Reporting on subordinates performance in accordance with the ePDR procedures with annual and six-monthly formal review RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Extensive proven experience within the field of Operational IT, Infrastructure management and service delivery in respect of GSS supporting Typhoon Aircraft data management experience Desirable Bachelor Degree, or equivalent, in a relevant computer science or engineering discipline Aircraft operational &/or maintenance data management experience Relevant GSS hardware qualifications (Fujitsu, NetApp, Cisco) Relevant GSS software qualifications (MS Windows, Oracle, SCCM) TeamCenter experience (AIX) IMS experience trilogiView experience WDMS experience RECRUITMENT A familiar level of continuing airworthiness knowledge A familiar level of continuing airworthiness management experience A familiar level of communication skills A familiar level of the Typhoon aircraft, it's sub-systems and how it is supported by the ground support systems (GSS) An familiar level of the Aircraft Maintenance (Part 145), Continuing Airworthiness (Part M), aircraft systems and Technical Training (Part 147) areas A practitioner level of managing shop maintenance of aircraft ground support systems (GSS) A practitioner level of supporting aircraft ground support capabilities A practitioner level of prioritising tasks and reporting discrepencies Desirable Desirable Explain the application of Human Factors and performance issues Extensive experience in systems installation, setting to work, commissioning and customer acceptance of IT systems EXPATRIATE EMPLOYEE BENEFITS In return for the required high levels of commitment and hard work you will receive a competitive salary, rent free accommodation and access to free recreation facilities, all available within Company secured accommodation.
