Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated

General Foreman

to oversee daily field operations on construction sites. The General Foreman is responsible for supervising multiple crews, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. This role bridges the gap between site workers, foremen, subcontractors, and site/project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of foremen, tradespeople, and subcontractors on-site. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications. Assist in planning and scheduling project activities to meet deadlines and budget constraints. Monitor progress daily, identify issues or delays, and implement corrective actions. Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents. Coordinate materials, equipment, and labor requirements across the site. Maintain accurate records of labor, productivity, equipment usage, and material deliveries. Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders. Conduct regular site inspections and safety meetings. Mentor and train foremen and crew members to maintain high performance and safety awareness. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional construction management training or certifications are a plus. 8+ years of progressive experience in the construction industry, including 3+ years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, safety standards, and building codes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
