General Accountant Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Recordkeeping

: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Financial Reporting

: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

Budgeting and Forecasting

: Assist in developing budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring variances, and providing insights to support business decisions.

Tax Compliance

: Ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations, including VAT filings, and coordinate with external auditors for tax reporting.

Reconciliation

: Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly.

Payroll Processing

: Oversee payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries and benefits.

Audit Support

: Prepare documentation and support internal and external audits to ensure adherence to financial standards.

Process Improvement

: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.

Collaboration

: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to provide financial insights and support organizational goals.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho, Busy, or Tally). Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations, including VAT and IFRS. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is a plus.
