Job Summary: Looking for a General Accountant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Job Key Details:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, balance sheets, profit and loss statements as well as other financial reports
• Carry out monthly and regular reconciliations
• Prepare, send and store invoices as necessary
• Conduct month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciling accounts, analyzing discrepancies as well as preparing journal entries
• Update management on any financial discrepancies
• Determine monthly revenue and collection forecast
• Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances as well as opportunities for improvement
• Handle and track budget as well as accounting information
• Support the preparation of financial statements, tax returns as well as regulatory compliance filings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions
• Update accounting databases and spreadsheets
• Organize customer contracts and evaluate all agreements and invoices
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and identify areas for improvement
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures as well as systems
• Undertake any other related tasks as may be required

Job Qualifications and Experience

• Should hold a Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics with CPA, ACCA, CTA, ACA, ADIT, CMA or equivalent professional qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in a large accounting firm working as accountant
• Strong knowledge of accounting software as well as the Ms Office suite required
• Experience with general ledger functions required
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Must have basic knowledge of transfer pricing concepts and associated service offerings
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues
