Job Description

of FM Engineer:

The role of a Facilities Management (FM) Engineer is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of buildings and facilities. The specific responsibilities may vary depending on the organization and the nature of the facilities being managed, but generally, an FM Engineer is involved in the following key areas:

Overseeing the maintenance and operation of various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, civil etc.

Planning and implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.

Monitoring and managing energy usage to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Implementing energy conservation initiatives and recommending energy-efficient technologies.

Ensuring that the facility complies with safety regulations and building codes.

Collaborating with various departments, including facilities, operations, and administration, to address their needs and concerns.

Identify the technical defects and provide proposals for facility maintenance, repairs, and improvements to enhance the property condition.

Monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Implementing and managing building management systems (BMS) and other technologies to monitor and control facility operations.

Coordinating with external vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and facility services.

Managing service contracts and ensuring vendors meet performance expectations.

Developing and maintaining emergency response plans to address various scenarios, such as fires, natural disasters, or security incidents.

Communicating effectively with the occupants.

Participating in the development and management of facility budgets.
