is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fit-out projects in the site. This role involves managing and coordinating the construction processes, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with the project's specifications, timeline, and budget. The Fit-Out Site Engineer works closely with the project manager, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution and completion of the interior fit-out works for commercial, residential, or retail spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision:
Oversee and supervise all on-site fit-out activities to ensure that the work is being completed according to the approved plans and specifications.
Manage site personnel and subcontractors to ensure the timely and quality delivery of all work.
Ensure that all work is executed following health and safety regulations, quality standards, and legal requirements.
Monitor daily progress on-site and adjust schedules as required to maintain project timelines.
Quality Control:
Conduct inspections and quality checks on materials, installations, and finished work to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
Identify and resolve any issues related to construction quality, promptly addressing any deficiencies or discrepancies.
Ensure the correct installation and use of materials, finishes, and fixtures as per the design specifications.
Project Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate with project managers, architects, designers, and other engineers to ensure that the project aligns with the design and requirements.
Serve as the point of contact between the site team and the office team, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, ensuring that decisions are made promptly and any delays are mitigated.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure that all safety protocols and standards are strictly followed on-site to prevent accidents or injuries.
Conduct regular safety audits, site inspections, and toolbox talks to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure that all construction activities comply with local building codes, regulations, and permits.
Material and Resource Management:
Assist in the procurement and delivery of materials, ensuring that all items are delivered on time and in the correct quantity.
Oversee the inventory of materials on-site and ensure proper handling, storage, and usage to avoid wastage or delays.
Manage the allocation of tools, equipment, and labor resources efficiently to avoid project delays.
Scheduling and Budget Management:
Ensure that work is completed within the agreed-upon timeframes and budgets.
Monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure adherence to the project schedule.
Assist with the preparation of cost reports, ensuring the project stays within budget and highlighting any potential cost overruns.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, progress, changes, and any issues that arise on-site.
Prepare progress reports, site diaries, and other documentation for project managers and senior management.
Ensure that all documentation related to the project, including design changes, approvals, and inspections, is properly filed and maintained.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in fit-out or interior construction, with a focus on site engineering and management.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, finishes, and building systems.
Familiarity with building codes, standards, and regulations related to fit-out work.
Proficient in construction management software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and project scheduling tools.
