A Firefighting Technician is a professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, and emergency equipment. They ensure that fire safety systems comply with regulations and operate effectively in emergencies. Key Responsibilities: * Installation & Maintenance
Test and troubleshoot fire protection systems to ensure proper functionality.
Perform preventive maintenance to avoid system failures.
Repairs & Upgrades
Diagnose and repair faults in fire suppression and detection systems.
Replace defective components and upgrade outdated systems.
Ensure compliance with national and local fire safety codes (NFPA, OSHA, etc.).
Inspections & Testing
Conduct routine inspections of fire safety systems in buildings and industrial facilities.
Perform pressure tests, flow tests, and battery checks on firefighting equipment.
Document inspection reports and maintenance logs.
Emergency Support
Respond to emergency call-outs for system malfunctions.
Assist firefighters or safety officers during drills or actual emergencies.
Customer Service & Compliance
Advise clients on fire safety regulations and best practices.
Provide training on fire equipment usage when required.
Ensure all work meets legal and insurance requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical diploma in Fire Safety, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Experience with fire suppression systems (wet/dry sprinklers, foam, gas-based systems).
