About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly analytical and results-oriented Financial Data Analyst to join a fast-paced Finance team. This role offers full ownership of the financial data ecosystem-building, maintaining, and optimising frameworks that support strategic, data-driven decisions across the organisation.
You will be instrumental in analysing fees, costs, and overall financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in data analysis, financial modelling, and reporting, paired with a deep understanding of financial operations and corporate banking. You'll work cross-functionally to drive insights, support key initiatives, and enhance operational and financial effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive deep-dive analysis of financial and operational data to generate actionable insights
Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI) for monitoring costs, revenue, and efficiency
Extract, transform, and analyse data using SQL, Power Query, Excel, and other tools
Automate reporting processes and develop cost-tracking tools using Excel macros, Power BI, or scripts
Conduct variance analysis to investigate cost changes and support vendor negotiations
Lead scenario modelling to evaluate impacts of pricing, market shifts, or vendor agreements
Contribute to finance initiatives including payments analysis, forecasting, and reconciliations
Participate in process improvement initiatives, using Six Sigma or process design frameworks
Translate business needs into data requirements, dashboards, and analytical outputs
Collaborate across departments to improve profitability, efficiency, and compliance
Provide subject matter knowledge on lending, trade finance, and cash management products
Requirements:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw insights from complex datasets
Solid knowledge of financial markets, trading environments, and corporate banking processes
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, treasury, or payments-preferably in financial services, fintech, or brokerage
Advanced Excel capabilities (macros, pivot tables, formulas)
Proven expertise in Power BI and data visualisation best practices
Proficient in SQL, Power Query, and similar tools
Experience with CRM, ERP, or accounting systems
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational/time management skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical insights to non-technical audiences
Self-starter with strong ownership and accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry experience in CFD, fintech, or brokerage sectors
Familiarity with APIs and automated data pipelines
Certifications in Finance, Analytics, or Data Science
