ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for all facets of finance operations for Mondia, including statutory financial reporting, management / investor reporting, audits, budgeting and planning, treasury management, as well as taxation and compliance.
This position is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and will require regular travel to Mondia’s office in Hamburg, Germany. The role reports to the M-Digital Head of Finance who is also based in Dubai.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee and manage all finance operations for Mondia Media, including reporting, planning, revenues to receipt, expense to pay and tax.
Financial Planning & Reporting:
  • Prepare and manage financial reporting for Mondia in coordination with Group Finance including, cash forecasts, monthly financial statements, quarterly/annual forecasts, annual budget, statutory annual reporting, and other ad hoc reports
  • Examine, and analyze and prepare all accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports, and assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Month-end and year-end close including review of bank, petty cash and other balance sheet reconciliations, updating the fixed asset register, intercompany postings and period-end processing.
  • Prepare annual statutory financial statements and clearing audits with Big 4 audit firms.
  • Track revenues and expenses vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations
  • Produce business cases, commercial analysis, attend to customer and supplier reviews, etc.
  • Proactively liaise with the bank, auditors, government agencies, persons and entities related to the job.
  • Prepare, manage, and execute strategic and operating plans. This includes preparing budget/forecast assumptions and templates in close collaboration with commercial and group Finance teams.
Treasury Management
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial team and with external clients to manage invoicing and collections in timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage payments to local & international suppliers and other disbursements.
  • Manage working capital and liquidity, planning allocation of funds to meet strategic objectives as well as routine operations.
  • Manage payment administration of benefits plans (health insurance, pensions, etc.)
Tax Management:
  • Manage tax compliance of the company in each jurisdiction, with the assistance of the tax consultants where required.
Payroll Management:
  • Review, pay and record the monthly payroll including permanent & casual staff and students and their related social security, tax and insurance payments. Liaise with our third-party payroll provider to ensure that employees are paid correctly and in a timely manner.
Financial Stewardship:
  • Improving efficiencies in financial processes and reducing cost across the business.
  • Documentation of company processes and policy.
  • Preparing monthly department expense reports versus budget and coordinating with department heads on cost control matters and approval of local expenditure.
People Management:
  • Manage a small team to ensure accurate financial closing processes.

ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate has exceptionally high ownership, excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment. They would also be highly focused on demonstrating excellence in service delivery and problem-solving; breaking down complex information into understandable and actionable items.
Other qualifications include:
  • Relevant professional accounting qualification preferably as a CA or CPA.
  • At least 8 years of general finance controlling and/or finance management experience. Experience in financial statements, managing audits, business partnering and statutory advice.
  • Fluent in both German and English (written and verbal).
  • Big 4 experience will be plus.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Experience with Odoo and SAP would be highly regarded.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to collaborate actively & effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Entrepreneurial, with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual abilities.
  • Significant experience with local tax management (corporate, payroll, etc) and payroll management
  • Experience with cash flow and tax optimization across European markets
  • Financial experience in commercial business
  • Ability to work under pressure and requirements with stringent deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a fast changing, rapidly growing industry.
