Finance Business Partner - Sharjah Accounts & Finance

Scope/Purpose:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join the Finance team. The Finance team comprises three pillars \xe2\x80\x93 * Commercial pillar, comprising the Finance business partners and the FP&A team, supporting operations according to defined business lines in the UK within the Group structure;
  • Technical pillar, comprising Controls/Compliance and the Management Reporting team; and
  • Transactional pillar, comprising Procurement, Financial Controls Team, Credit control, Accounts Payable and Financial Transformation.
Reporting to the Regional Middle East Finance Director, you will have proven experience of providing commercial financial support to numerous businesses, ideally as part of a Shared Service Centre. The finance business partner will need to work closely with operations to constantly review, appraise and support business decisions, reviewing their impact and providing professional decision support.

Business Line Reporting
  • Lead financial/business reviews \xe2\x80\x93 leading financial reviews of the business, its sub-businesses or sites, driving clarity of financial performance and actions needed to grow the business. Support business line lead in all internal reviews
  • Financial forecasting \xe2\x80\x93 working with operations to build a financial forecast, driving growth and margin accretion;
  • Managing month-end close \xe2\x80\x93 performance of month-end close activities within the business and clearly reporting results to country management, including participating in post month-end business line calls;
  • Budgeting \xe2\x80\x93 leading the business through the budgeting process in order to maximize financial opportunities
  • Communicate key reporting deadlines to Business Line Leaders ensuring any templates are prepared;
  • Supporting the business through additional analysis and commercial advice.
Ongoing tasks
  • Ownership for financial analysis \xe2\x80\x93 driving an independent data driven financial analysis, highlighting financial concerns, building an action plan and working with operating to see actions through
  • Working capital management \xe2\x80\x93 maximising working capital within the business, including collection management, accrued income and bad debt, and maintaining compliance level to customer lists and credit limits;
  • Cost control \xe2\x80\x93 leading the business to deliver cost control excellence in order to maximize margin expansion;
  • Capex and investment (including post-investment) appraisals \xe2\x80\x93 lead financial evaluation of capital investment within the business, clearly communicating to the management team;
  • Accountability to deliver compliance on core mandatory controls within the business
  • Actively work towards the development of business partnering skills (through working groups with other business partners, attending conferences, researching ideas etc.);
  • Providing ad-hoc finance training to operational managers (reviewing financial results, budgeting and forecasting, SSC structure & processes, financial impact of decisions etc.)
Key Relationships
  • Reporting to the Finance Director;
  • Will work closely with business line leaders and site directors for operational aspects of the role including results reporting and commercial planning;
  • Will work closely with designated Reporting Accountants, other Finance business partners and the FP&A team in a proactive and reactive manner in order to provide or obtain information;
Required skills and experience
  • Must be suitably qualified;
  • 4-7 years\xe2\x80\x99 PQE across general ledger accounting, financial reporting, management reporting, financial
analysis and business support;
  • Must be enthusiastic, personable and have excellent written and spoken communication skills;
  • Experience in providing decision support across multiple sites;
  • Independent problem-solver/decision-maker; works without significant guidance.
  • Able to identify root causes of issues and develop solutions to resolve issues efficiently;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver on deadlines;
  • A desire to continually improve the processes and service delivered to internal customers;
  • Demonstrates good organisational skills;
  • Strong IT and financial-modelling skills (Excel, Word, Graphs, PowerPoint, including VBA and macros desirable);
  • Experience of IBM Cognos Controller and PeopleSoft an advantage.
