Job Purpose
Field Service Engineer will provide customers with technical services and solutions. Shall successfully deliver and execute jobs such as preparation, installation, repair and maintenance of TechnipFMC Measurement Products and Systems.
  • Assignments often involve basic technical observations, resolving client issues.
  • Findings are most often summarized & reported to others for further analysis or to resolve the issues.
  • When attending to site for Service calls should be able to individually handle issues and capable of planning and implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Continuously support clients with long term maintenance contracts.

Job Responsibility
  • Reports to MPS Aftermarket Manager
  • Field Service Engineer will provide customers with technical support and solutions. Will respond to customers via phone and on-site to troubleshoot, perform diagnostic tests, calibrate, perform repairs, and provide technical knowledge on most Smith Meter products as well as Metering systems and peripheral products.
  • Continuous contact with customers to support long-term service contracts. Provide technical support via telephone, e-mail to our customers.
  • Perform in-house product repair as required, warranty administration, and electronic board repair. Assist with the creation and maintenance of product literature and procedures, as well as contribute to customer training curriculum.
  • Assist with managing departmental assets (e.g. tools, test fixtures, and demo equipment). Accurately report departmental utilization, recovery, repair activity, and warranty cost to the Aftermarket Manager.
  • Be available on call to provide emergency assistance to customers all hours of the day, year-round including holidays, but excluding personal vacation.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and Quality Assurance on quality and product performance issues and provide technical support to others internally when required.
  • Achieve service revenue growth through billable hours and high level of utilization.
  • Shall ensure proper field service practices, efficiency, quality standards, and the highest level of customer service.
  • Receive and follow-up customer calls to resolve all outstanding issues.
  • Participate in the development of diagnostic techniques and procedures. Perform special assignments as required by management.
  • Provide assistance in prioritizing repair activity, and technical support to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Complete and maintain accurate repair reports, and timesheets.
  • Follow all HSE policies and procedures.
You are meant for this job if
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Instrumentation.
  • More than 5 years in a Field Service Engineer role with prior experience working in electrical, mechanical, control system or similar vocational training preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Must possess proper soldering techniques, electronic component diagnostics, and use of electronic circuit test equipment and calibration equipment.
  • Leadership capability and good aptitude. Knowledge of various aspects of Field Service.
  • Basic understanding of Flow Measurement, Engineering practices, design methods & Measurement calculations. Knowledge of Computerized control system with Man Machine Interface and communications.
  • Oil and Gas Industry Safety Standards and requirements. Hands on Service experience. Capable to Read, interpret & prepare applicable technical information. Control systems knowledge and maintenance of PLC and PC based control systems.
  • Must be familiar with API manual of petroleum measurement standards.
